THE BOWEN THERAPISTS ASSOCIATION OF CANADA
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Professional development is important to all health practitioners to ensure continued competency, refinement and further development. Clients deserve the assurance that bowen therapists are committed to their ongoing development.
To maintain membership, all bowen therapists are required to attend a minimum of one 8 hour, hands-on bowen therapy class every year from a Canadian school that certifies bowen therapists to ensure ongoing competency in core and advanced bowen skills. Up to three days of class may be banked. For example, one three day class taken in 2026 will satisfy the CEU requirement for 2026, 2027 and 2028. International bowen classes and non-bowen classes do not qualify. If unsure, please inquire prior to enrolling.
Members are also encouraged to develop their skills in other areas such as: additional bowen therapy classes, client assessment, anatomy/physiology and marketing. They may take as many or as few courses as they like in these areas:
-
Bowen courses from a school that does not certify bowen therapists
-
Courses in anatomy and physiology
-
Marketing
-
International bowen courses
Additional opportunities for development may become available in the areas of:
