CODE OF ETHICS

All members of the Bowen Therapists Association of Canada agree to abide by a strict Code of Ethics

The code of professional ethics for bowen therapists outlines general ethical boundaries and expectations to be upheld by all members of the Bowen Therapist Association of Canada:

  • to act in the best interests of a patient

  • to provide treatment within the scope of practice

  • to provide treatment while adhering to the standards of practice

  • to refrain from sexual misconduct

  • to refrain from practising if impaired

  • to report colleagues if a colleague is committing an act of professional misconduct

  • to refrain from providing a diagnosis or guaranteeing a cure

  • to avoid conflict of interest

  • to keep all communications confidential

  • to speak respectfully of regulated health professionals

  • I will not use bowen therapy in situations that are contraindicated

  • I commit to ongoing bowen therapy education to further develop, refresh and refine my skill set and for the benefit of my clients

  • to treat all clients with respect

  • to practice with integrity, honesty and diligence
